Killian to run as an Independent Candidate in Local Elections

Councillor Nick Killian, the Ratoath based councillor first elected in 1999, and who was subsequenrly re-elected in 2004 and 2009, has announced that he is resigning from the Fianna Fail party and will contest the  local elections  for the Ratoath Local Electoral Area on May 23rd 2014, as an Independent Community Candidate. In a statement Killian said: “As a result of the decision at the recent selection convention, I have decided to put myself forward for election for the Ratoath Local Electoral area of Meath County Council, as an Independent Candidate. I am doing this with the full support of my friends and political supporters, I have made the difficult decision to resign and I wish all my former colleagues in the Fianna Fail party here in Co Meath every success for the future. I wish to continue to represent the needs and concerns of the community and residents of Ratoath and surrounding areas as an Independent councillor as I have done for the past 15 years. I have delivered and will keep delivering the ongoing necessary infrastructure that our village requires.”
